Qvantel Flex BSS makes its mark in Egypt and Namibia

Egyptian operator Etisalat Misr by e& and digital BSS specialist Qvantel have announced that they have signed an agreement at MWC to implement the Qvantel Flex BSS solution to help in the digital transformation of Etisalat BSS.

By implementing Qvantel Flex BSS running on AWS Outpost (a pool of AWS compute and storage capacity deployed at a customer site), says Qvantel, Etisalat Misr by e& can quickly develop and implement new use cases and try out new business models.

Qvantel describes Flex BSS as a cloud-native, no/low code platform designed for digital, 5G and convergent services that supports B2C, B2B and B2B2X customers as well as supporting new vertical markets (such as healthcare, enterprise and smart cities).

The company adds that the Flex BSS no/low code configuration over customisation approach enables significant cost and time-to-market savings.

This announcement comes only two weeks after another significant deal involving this platform: a contract from multinational technology company SATEC Group to provide Qvantel Flex BSS to Telecom Namibia to support its digital transformation strategy.

By providing fixed-mobile convergence, Telecom Namibia aims to provide a combination of fixed broadband and local access wireless technologies to provide a superior broadband experience for customers. With this in mind SATEC Group will work with Qvantel to implement Qvantel Flex BSS for all services (mobile, fixed and value-added services) for all consumers and business customers.

The solution enables the addition of many new services, such as content and ICT offers and helps Telecom Namibia to achieve its goal of providing innovative services to its customers and to grow its market share.
