Umniah taps Ericsson for AI upgrade in Jordan

Jordanian operator Umniah will deploy Ericsson’s Cognitive Software AI solutions to optimise its network and address critical aspects of its network in key locations. 

In a statement, the Swedish vendor said Umniah will leverage the capabilities of its Cognitice Software portfolio. Ericsson will deploy its AI and Machine Learning driven Performance Diagnostics and Virtual Drive Testing offerings to address critical aspects of Umniah's network in a significant cluster, including Amman and its surrounding areas. 

A full deployment comes after a proof of concept where Ercisson ran the solutions in Umniah’s network, focusing on Termination Analysis and Advanced RAN Analytics to investigate how to boost network efficiency and improve user experience.

Ericsson stated its Cognitive Software portfolio can address complexities in modern multi-technology and multi-layer networks. It can also leverage big data and proactively solve network performance issues.
